horizontal movable shot blasting machine for concrete surface preparation
Concrete Floor Shot Blasting
Shot blasting is extremely efficient when resurfacing industrial plants, parking garages and other commercial concrete floors and steel decks. Shot blasting uses mechanically propelled steel shot that is contained in housing over the concrete floor leaving an ideal surface for coating. As the steel shot blasts dirt, grime, old coatings, and embedded chemical contaminants from the concrete floor, they are continuously recycled and the pulverized concrete and contaminants are collected in the connected dust collector. Because shot blasting floors is a contained process, it is ideal in industrial settings with sensitive or difficult to move equipment.
Shot blasting can lightly clean or remove as much as a quarter inch of concrete depending on the size of the abrasive and duration of blasting.
Configuration considerations for your shot blasting equipment:
· Clean and profile concrete or steel flooring in one application
· Remove surface buildup and anti-skid coatings
· Leaves the floor totally dry and free of chemical residues
· Ideal applications include:
o Manufacturing and warehouse floors
o Parking garages
o Bridges, highways, ship decking
· Principles of operation:
o Steel shot particles are propelled onto the floor via a high-speed centrifugal wheel, all in a self-contained enclosure
o The steel shot loosens the floor residue
o The residue and steel shot are rebounded back into the enclosure
o The steel shot is automatically cleaned and screened, and redirected back to the wheel to be propelled again
o The floor residue is directed to an integral Dust Collector, along with any broken down steel shot
· Machines available in cleaning widths from 8” to 48”
· Self-propelled models can travel at speeds up to 100 feet per minute
· Other types of machines available from ROCKBEST:
o Grinders and Polishers
o Scarifier
o Floor Scrubber
o Vacuum Cleaner
